Conchetta DiJulio

Conchetta DiJulio is a lifetime farmer, she grew up on the farm that she currently lives in the countryside, outside of the town of Sant’ Elia a Piansi. She doesn’t remember living anywhere else, and doing anything else. Her farm is the definition of a sustainance farm, but they do sell products at markets as well. They grow crops and raise animals - pigs, cows, chickens, using everything. Conchetta started helping out with the farm responsibilities as a young child, and eventually took over completely. Now her children and grandchildren work on the farm with her as well. Since she grew up on the farm, this is where she was during the era of Fascism and eventually World War II. She is 86 years old.
